From 1994 through 2020 (and hopefully soon, beyond), Maria Lapham And I produced over 90 issues of our acclaimed comic Stray Bullets.  Not a traditional crime comic in the hard boiled detective sense that we all know and love, but a genre I like to call "domestic noir", about people who live on the edges of society.  People trying to survive all forms of trauma from emotional to domestic to actually getting their teeth kicked in while trying to live, to form connections, and yes, they all too often (but not always) careen off the criminal underbelly of life.
Presented here is a PDF of the first issue of Stray Bullets: Killers #1. It came in the middle of the run so far, stands alone, and is one of Stray Bullets' strongest issues. I've explored many genres in my years from sci-fi, to horror, to superheroes, traditional crime noir, and even westerns, comedy, and surrealism, but Bullets is what I'm most known for and gives a good sense of how a comic can draw you in and deliver an emotional gut punch.
